Patrimoine ordinaire : une nouvelle séquence habitée

Dans un lotissement de la métropole nantaise, un couple s’interroge sur la transformation de sa maison. Une maison ordinaire, habillée des codes propres aux pavillons nantais du Nord de la Loire. 

Le lotissement pavillonnaire devient un nouveau territoire de projet. Densifié, intensifié, adapté, ce tissu connait une transformation silencieuse. Tournant nos regards vers le déjà-là afin de protéger les territoires vierges de l’expansion urbaine, l’architecture s’invite progressivement dans ces quartiers résidentiels afin d’y apporter plus de diversité.

Sans nier l’architecture archétypale de la maison existante, le projet vise à faire évènement dans un paysage où la régularité bâtie est de mise. Nous créons, adjacente à la maison, une nouvelle séquence habitée composée d’une extension, une terrasse et une piscine. Le volume de l’extension propose une forme parallélépipédique de grande hauteur, créant un skyline nouveau et inhabituel. Ce volume par sa hauteur et son ouverture sur l’extérieur offre une expérience architecturale peu commune aux maisons classiques de lotissement. Avec quatre mètres de linéaire de baie coulissante à galandage, intérieur et extérieur font sol commun durant les beaux jours pour offrir un espace continu au bord de la piscine. La figure de projet se déploie depuis cette nouvelle séquence habitée pour activer l’ensemble des espaces communs de la maison.

Ordinary heritage: a new living strip

In a subdivision of the Nantes metropole, a couple wonders about the transformation of their house. An ordinary house, dressed in the codes of North of the Loire pavilions.

The housing estate becomes a new project territory. Densified, intensified, adapted, this fabric knows a silent transformation. Turning our gaze towards what is already there in order to protect virgin territories from urban expansion, architecture is gradually inviting itself into these residential neighborhoods in order to bring more diversity.

Without denying the archetypal architecture of the existing house, the project aims to make an event in a landscape where the built regularity is the rule. We create, adjacent to the house, a new inhabited sequence composed of an extension, a terrace and a pool. The volume of the extension proposes a parallelepipedic shape of great height, creating a new and unusual skyline. This volume by its height and its opening on the outside offers an architectural experience uncommon to the classic houses of subdivision. With four meters of linear sliding bay, interior and exterior are in common during the summer months, to offer a continuous space by the pool. The project figure unfolds from this new inhabited sequence to activate all the common spaces of the house.
